Field Trip: Brandywine Creek State Park

Field Trip: Brandywine Creek State Park

The updated plan is to meet at the Woodlawn Trust Parking area along Ramsey Road and begin the field trip at 7:30 am. The Google Maps address is 289 Ramsey Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803.   We will walk along the Brandywine towards Thompson’s Bridge Road. We will either cross the Brandywine and then walk into the State Park or loop back and get our cars and drive to the main entrance. Either way, we will bird the wetland area and the main entrance area in hopes of Blue Grosbeak, Prairie Warbler and Yellow-breasted Chat.  I expect the field trip to last close to 4 hours.

Note:  State Park fees in effect.  Leader:  Martin Selzer.

We encourage participants to regularly check both the Wyncote Audubon Society website and Wyncote Facebook Page in advance of a field trip as the meeting location can change due to road construction, a park closure, weather conditions, or other last-minute circumstances. If you have any questions about a field trip, please use the contact form below.

Plan on arriving a few minutes before the scheduled time of the field trip. The time stated is the STARTING time, not the arrival time. This will give you time to get yourself ready, say hello, visit a restroom and be ready to go. For all day trips, please come prepared with lunch and have a full tank of gas.
