Collins Nursery Fall Open House

Collins Nursery Fall Open House

Fall is the perfect time to plant new trees, shrubs, and perennials!

Planting in the fall, with its cooler temperatures and increased rainfall, gives your plants more time to establish strong roots before they face the stresses of next summer.

New Special Event

rain-barrelSaturday, September 17 only, 1:00pm

Audubon Bird Town Bird Walk in Edgehill Woods (adjacent to Edgehill Castle and Collins Nursery).

Leigh Altadonna, President of the Wyncote Audubon Society and Joe Wunderle, an ornithologist with the United States Forest Service will lead the walk. Joe and Leigh grew up in Glenside and did much of their childhood birding in these woods. Join them to see some birds and to hear them reminisce about their boyhood birding adventures.

In addition, members of the Wyncote Audubon Society will have information on their activities and how to attract birds to your garden with native plants. Plan on attending one of their presentations at 12:00-12:30 or 2:00-2:30.

Saturday, September 24

The Abington EAC will take orders for rain barrels from 11:00-3:00.
Attend a rain barrel workshop at the nursery at 12:00-12:30 or 2:00-2:30 and receive a $10 discount on your rain barrel.
