Bird Walk: Pennypack Park – Verree and Krewstown Road Area

This walk is in partnership with BirdPhilly.
Please join us for a bird walk at one of Philly’s most underrated birding locations. It is peak fall migration and we are bound to see some warblers, thrushes and vireos!

The gate to the parking lot on Verree Rd might not be open yet, but it is safe to park along the road in that case. Please use these coordinates for guidance: 40.0857998, -75.0605229 (Google Maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/6QYP4fwo7t2HMbkr6).
Alternatively, you can park in the parking lot of the Pennypack Environmental Center up the road. Then just walk along the road across the creek to the trailhead.

The trip will be a mix of walking along the creek on the paved trail and on rugged hiking trail. Depending on the weather and group we could walk up to 3 miles. But most likely it will be shorter.

We encourage participants to regularly check both the Wyncote Audubon Society website and Wyncote Facebook Page in advance of a field trip as the meeting location can change due to road construction, a park closure, weather conditions, or other last-minute circumstances. If you have any questions about a field trip, please use the contact form below.

Plan on arriving a few minutes before the scheduled time of the field trip. The time stated is the STARTING time, not the arrival time. This will give you time to get yourself ready, say hello, visit a restroom and be ready to go. For all-day trips, please come prepared with lunch and have a full tank of gas.

Wyncote Audubon field trips and events are generally safe and rewarding activities. They often require participants to drive to locations, carpool, walk on trails, and similar activities. Participants in a Wyncote Audubon field trip or event agree to not hold the Wyncote Audubon Society or any of its agents responsible for any accidents, losses, damages or injuries resulting from participation in the field trip or event.
