Audubon Pennsylvania, Bucks County Audubon, Lehigh Valley Audubon and Valley Forge Audubon have partnered to sponsor an Audubon Advocacy Workshop.

The Audubon Advocacy Workshop is scheduled for 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Discovery Center, 3401 Reservoir Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19121. We invite and encourage our members and friends to participate in this important full-day workshop.

Maddox Wolfe, the Coastal Campaigns Manager for the National Audubon Society, will lead the workshop. Maddox will provide an in-depth introduction to the fundamentals of organizing and building power. The program is designed to help advocates, at any level of experience, develop a skillset to lead and win campaigns. Attendees will walk away knowing how to plan a campaign, identify goals and see them through to completion, recruit new advocates, and build their power to advance change at home and nationally.

The Audubon Advocacy Workshop is an opportunity for participants to strengthen their ability to support initiatives for the protection of birds and their conservation. One goal of the workshop is to prepare individuals to provide with skills to lend support for key legislative initiatives on the agenda addressed of the 116th Congress. Reauthorization of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, the Land and Water Conservation, and proposed legislation to protect forage fish, so important to seabirds, are among the priorities we need to be prepared to address at the Federal level. The skills also will be useful to address Federal, state, and local conservation issues. All are welcome to participate! We need friends and members to support these Advocacy initiatives. This is a free event with refreshments and lunch provided. There is no registration fee but preregistration is needed to prepare workshop materials and provisions for refreshments and lunch.
